Ambassador Platforms

An IAP Ambassador Platform is an office whose goals are to:

  • Be an Ambassador for ESA's Integrated Applications Promotion Programme - IAP - for a particular region (e.g. Eastern Europe, Alpine region) or for a particular theme (e.g. Telemedicine, Energy);
  • Promote IAP amongst the various types of stakeholders (users, institutions, decision makers, co-financers, politicians, service providers, solution providers, etc.).

The Ambassador Platform for the Baltic Sea Region (APBSR) of ESA's IAP Programme is hosted by the Baltic Sea Action Group (BSAG) in Helsinki. The objective of this Ambassador Platform is to assist the IAP programme in spreading awareness among stakeholders, along the value chain of potential services related to the environment, safety and transport in the Baltic Sea region.

The Ambassador Platform for Integrated Applications Promotion in Central & Eastern European Region (APCEE) of ESA’s IAP Programme is hosted by the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) in Vienna. The objective of this Ambassador Platform is to assist the IAP programme in spreading awareness for potential stakeholders in ESA’s IAP programme, in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.

The Ambassador Platform for Dual-Use Space-based Services (APDUSS) of ESA's IAP Programme is hosted by the Office of the Advisor for Aerospace Activities Italian Ministry of Defence in Rome. The objective of this Ambassador Platform is to assist the IAP programme in spreading awareness among stakeholders, along the value chain of potential services which fulfil the various needs of Defence and Civilian Users.

The Ambassador Platform for e-Health in Inaccessible Regions (eHIR) of ESA’s Integrated Applications Promotion (IAP) Programme is hosted by The Norwegian Centre for Integrated Care and Telemedicine. The objective of this Ambassador Platform is to assist the IAP programme in spreading awareness for stakeholders, along the value chain of potential services in the domain of e-Health in inaccessible regions.

The Ambassador Platform for Enhanced Mobility (EMob) is hosted by the ESA office at Harwell in the UK. The objective of this Ambassador Platform is to assist the IAP programme in spreading awareness among stakeholders in the domain of enhanced mobility.

The objective of the Ambassador Platform for European Adoption of Renewable Energies, managed by the Centro Nacional de Energías Renovables (CENER, National Renewable Energy Centre of Spain), is to assist the IAP programme in spreading awareness for potential stakeholders in ESA’s IAP programme in the field of renewable energies and energy infrastructure management.

The Ambassador Platform for Small and Medium Enterprises (APsme) of ESA’s  Integrated Applications Promotion programme (IAP) is hosted by Eurisy, a not-for-profit association located in Paris, with the mandate to “bridge space and society”. Through awareness and promotion activities, Eurisy facilitates the access of professional end-user communities (local and regional entities, SMEs, international users) to satellite information and services, and contributes to a constructive dialogue with the space community.

Space for Med is a joint initiative between the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), supported by an Ambassador Platform managed by Luxembourg’s National Agency for Research and Innovation (Luxinnovation). Space for Med will support economic growth in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean areas by exploring the possibilities offered by space-based services in key economic sectors such as water management, transports and logistics, as well as energy and renewable energies.

The objective of the AP Water Ambassador Platform, managed by Het Waterschapshuis, is to assist ESA's IAP program in spreading awareness among potential stakeholders (institutions, industry and users) on the theme of Water Management, in particular regarding water Quality, water Quantity and Safety.
