Open Competition: Bird Strikes Risk-Reduction for Civil Aviation

Closing date:

Airplane landingAO No. 1-615 (Ref. no. 09.153.67)

The study shall investigate technical and programmatic issues of a system to mitigate the risk of bird strikes for civil aviation authorities. This system would generate real-time bird strike warnings by combining bird information at local and global/regional scale (provided by space and non-space systems) with ancillary data on relevant factors for local bird movements (such as environmental and meteorological conditions provided by Earth Observation satellites, specie-specific behavioural patterns as well as NAV data for track and trace of tagged birds, etc).

You may obtain further information on this ITT (and all other IAP/ARTES 20 ITTS) on the ESA EMITS website, with the menu "Intended Invitations to Tender" under the Programme ref. ARTES 20 Phase I, and then activating the AO Number. You should first register with EMITS in order to download the relevant documentation.
