UAS

Ref. no. 09.153.71, AO6118

Advanced UAS are used or proposed in many missions covering security (including border patrol, anti-drug warfare, chemical, biological and radiological detection, maritime vessel identification and interdiction), surveillance of infrastructures (pipelines, power lines, railways, waterways, roads, airports), search and rescue, mapping, fisheries, agriculture, forestry, natural resource monitoring, fire fighting and emergency management, airborne communication collection and relay, weather data collection, environmental monitoring, pollution detection and other scientific research.

Integrating UAS in non-segregated airspace raises a number of security- related issues, namely:

  • The security of the population and ground assets;
  • The security of the airspace users;
  • The security of the UAS infrastructure;
  • The security of the UAS mission products.

You may obtain further information on this ITT (and all other IAP/ARTES 20 ITTS) on the ESA EMITS website, with the menu "Intended Invitations to Tender" under the Programme ref. ARTES 20 Phase I, and then activating the AO Number. You should first register with EMITS in order to download the relevant documentation.
